  • Monday 30 November - Parent Information Night 5:30pm to 6:30pm at School Gymnasium
  • Thursday 7 May - Taster Lessons
  • Monday 18 May - Applications OPEN - EOI for Specialist CAPA class , Academic Enrichment class and Specialist Sports class programs
  • Friday 24 July - Applications CLOSE - EOI for Specialist CAPA class , Academic Enrichment class and Specialist Sports class programs
  • Friday 31 July - Outcome Notification: Invitations sent to participate in Specialist Class Trials/Auditions
  • Wednesday 12 August - Specialist Sports Class Trial Day
  • Thursday 13 August - Specialist CAPA Class Audition Day
  • Friday 14 August - Academic Enrichment Day
  • Wednesday 2 September - First Orientation Day including Non-Local enrolments
  • Monday 16 November - Getting Started Program (selected students) 9-11am
  • Monday 30 November - Second Parent Information Evening 5:30pm to 6:30pm BHS Gymnasium
  • Tuesday 1 December - YARN UP for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students 8:00am to 9:00am

Please note: School development days for staff are included in these term dates and parents and carers should not send their children to school on these days.

Belmont High School Specialist Class Program Booklet

Belmont High School offers three specialist classes for Year 7 students:

The Academic Enrichment Class targets the learning needs of a range of academically high potential and gifted students. These students work through the curriculum deeply and complete challenging, rich tasks that allow students more choice and the ability to work independently through an enquiry-based learning model.

The Specialist Creative and Performing Arts Class provides students with the opportunity to explore their chosen art form in a wide variety of classroom experiences and extra-curricular activities that run within the school community. Public performance opportunities, mentoring, and tuition from specialist teachers (during the school day) are available to support students. This will also help to build further confidence and assist them in reaching their potential.

The Specialist Sports Class provides students with an opportunity to work towards their potential across several sports. The program provides students with the opportunity to work through an extra curricula program of high-performance sport experiences, athletic development, fitness and conditioning and skills in a group of like-minded students. The program is designed for talented athletes who can develop a range of skills and learn about sports nutrition, coaching, and sport ethics.
