Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Welcome to the final term of 2021. I sincerely hope our students have had a restful break following the challenges and demands of Learning from Home last term and that all our families are safe and well. We are excited about welcoming our students and staff, many of whom have not been to school for over eight weeks now, back in the near future.

It is my great pleasure to welcome a number of new staff to Belmont High School starting in Term 4:

School Administration Manager โ€“ Kylie Armstrong (Hunter School of Performing Arts)

Head Teacher Special Education โ€“ Daniel Slott (Chatswood High School)

Head Teacher Administration โ€“ Emily Clewett (Morisset High School)

Mathematics Teacher โ€“ Aimee Freeman (Whitebridge High School)

English Teacher โ€“ Jessica Lees (Rutherford High School)

These staff bring a tremendous skill set and experience to their roles and I wish them well for a successful transition to our school.

I am also pleased to announce that beginning on Tuesday 5 October, BME will be the schoolโ€™s uniform provider for the next five years following our tender process last term. Whilst the Uniform Shop will only be open for online sales in the interim, the shop will be open as soon as circumstances allow with the new trading times of Tuesday 8:00-11:00am and Thursday 12:30-3:30pm. Due to the exclusive nature of the contract, BME will be the sole provider of uniform for Belmont High School.

Term 4 will begin with all students continuing to Learn from Home. As you may have seen in the media this week, the previously advertised Return to School Plan has been brought forward by a week, meaning the following revised staged Return to School Plan will be followed:

25 October โ€“ Week 4 โ€“ Year 11

1 November โ€“ Week 5 โ€“ All students return

Year 12 students will continue to be supported online from the beginning of term in preparation for the HSC Examinations. Workshops or individual support will be organised onsite and communicated to students and parent/caregivers, as required.

Further details regarding specific Level requirements will be communicated prior to students and staff returning to school.

During Term 4, I will be relieving as Director, Educational Leadership for the Glenrock Network. Tony Keevil, Principal of Lake Munmorah High School, will be relieving as Principal of Belmont High School. Tony is a familiar face to Belmont High School students and staff having relieved as Principal previously in 2019/2020.

I wish our students a great start to Term 4 and a successful transition back to school.

Kind regards,

Gareth Erskine | Principal
