Student leadership is an important component of our school with school leaders responsible for;
- representing the school in both school and community activities;
- initiating improvements to the conditions of students at the school;
- providing role models for acceptable behaviour and conduct in the school.
All candidates for School Captain will go through an application process that will begin early in Term 3, where they will firstly nominate themselves using the Captain Nomination Form.
Each student nomination will include a student profile together with their reasons for nominating. Applicants will present a formal and structured speech to a meeting of Year 10 and 11 students, followed by a presentation to all staff.
The nomination process will follow a timeline that ensures elections are completed before the scheduled Induction Ceremony at the Year 12 graduation.
Please note the BHS Captain Expectations that outlines the expected participation and behaviour of students nomination for Captaincy at Belmont High.
