BHS Operational Update – Monday, 1 November 2021
While it has been wonderful to see our students back in numbers, please be mindful to keep them home and get tested if they have even the slightest of COVID-19 symptoms, as outlined below:
Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
- fever (37.5 degrees Celsius or higher)
- cough
- sore throat
- shortness of breath (difficulty breathing)
- runny nose
- loss of taste
- loss of smell.
Other reported symptoms include:
- fatigue acute
- blocked nosed (congestion)
- muscle pain
- joint pain
- headache
- diarrhoea
- nausea/vomiting
- loss of appetite.
This is consistent with the NSW Dept of Education guidelines incorporating the latest advice form NSW Health (below).
A reminder for all families
Students are expected to attend school from their designation return to school date unless they are unwell or have even mild symptoms of COVID-19. Any person with any COVID-19 symptoms must be sent home and not return to school unless:
- they have isolated for 10 days, when no medical certificate is available
- they have a negative COVID-19 test result and are symptom free.
In circumstances where children have other medical reasons for recurrent symptoms, a letter from their GP is sufficient to negate the requirement for a negative test. Anyone who is unwell with COVID-19 symptoms is strongly encouraged to get tested and self-isolate until a negative result is received.
Find your local testing clinics here:

Thank you in advance for working with us to keep the school safe and open, as a number of local schools have had to close. If you have any further concerns, please contact me at the school on (02) 4945 0600
Take care and stay safe.
Kind regards,
Tony Keevill - Relieving Principal BHS
